The library is open to the public.
Our collection includes more than 13,000 items geared towards artists, educators, and students. There are general resources as well as items relating to diversity, Native American studies, and materials that focus on the six arts areas: Dance, Literary Arts, Media Arts, Music, Theater, and Visual Arts.
The Perpich Center for Arts Education Library seeks to support teaching and learning through the arts in Minnesota by loaning arts and arts education materials directly to MN residents (18 and older) who are K-12 and post-secondary teachers, artists, staff from art organizations, researchers, or any interested citizen for a period of three (3) to six (6) weeks.
Primary Customers:
Perpich Center for Arts Education - Arts High School students and agency staff and faculty.
Secondary Customers:
Residents of the state of Minnesota (18 and older) - primarily K-12 educators.
Children's Arts and Diversity Collection
Picture books on various artists and diverse peoples, with a special focus on Minnesota Native American tribes and communities.
Plays
A large collection of classic to contemporary stage plays with a focus on plays for younger actors
Professional Collection for Educators
Contemporary resources for teaching artists, K-12 educators, and pre-service teachers. These items focus on a variety of topics including: arts integration, creativity, cultural competency, diversity, Native American studies, and best practices in arts education. All items have been curated by Perpich Professional Development staff members.
